Charlie Hawkes is a UK-based landscape designer creating gardens that respond to the unique character and atmosphere of each place. After three years at Tom Stuart-Smith’s studio he established his own practice in 2020.

His work has been recognised with gold medals at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2022 and 2023, with Best All About Plants Garden and Best Sanctuary Garden awards respectively. He was named House & Garden’s Rising Star Garden Designer of the Year in 2022.

A passionate gardener, Charlie has hands-on experience from working at the Tokachi Millennium Forest in Japan for a year in 2018/19, as well as stints at Great Dixter and Gravetye Manor. Combined with a Masters in Landscape Architecture from Edinburgh College of Art, his approach blends thoughtful design with a deep connection to plants and nature.
